Meeting with the sensitive gaze
of Gisèle Reisser

Château des Rohan - Mutzig (France)

Gisèle comes back to Mutzig, bringing with her a part of Italy.
This child from Mutzig, once gave up her profession “for Love” to settle in Palermo. After a few years in the Sicilian sun, the family moved to Tuscany. It was in this land of beauty and contrast that she began to paint with the “Maestro” Enzo Neri. She made it her world. Various group exhibitions in this land of Art and painting, a few personal exhibitions and several prizes have since punctuated the constantly evolving pictorial journey of this artist, who seems to want to make up for the lost time. Within a few years, she thus accomplished part of her painting evolution. After having painted figurative subjects her sensitivity is now leading her to a kind of abstraction, enabling her to express her subtlest emotion and gaze.
In the contemporary Art we try to make something else with the great Masters’ technique, she explains to her interested visitors. After the diaphanous storks of her childhood in Mutzig, the hollow trees of the Tuscan countryside, she is asking the runs falling from Odin’s tree, letting her soul speak in pastels imbued with gentleness, calm and spirituality. During her numerous trips she discovered the wonderful colours of her Mediterranean countries and , thanks to the famous museums and exhibitions she could admire, she is still able to gather the light in people and things !
She is translating on canvas or paper with pastel, charcoal, gouache, tempera many techniques which are only vehicles allowing her the foundations of her universe !
“When you know how to look, everything is beautiful”, she said.
The elegance with which she talks about her experiences and her passions may be also found in the exhibition hall, where everything is designed to create the atmosphere most conducive to the influence and pleasure of her works. Visitors are never oblivious to it.
